TIME TO GET SERIOUS
 
 

mage set up
 
lvl 63 is a minimum unless u can full a sally +8 or elixir +8 outta ur ass then 62 will suffice

items ull need:

-crimson gloves +7
-crimson boots +7
-complete robe +7(or crimson +8...preferably crimson +8)
-crystal or crimson gob pads
-spear defense crystal gloves
-spear defense crystal boots
-spear defense crystal hat
-dagger defense crystal hat
-axe defense crystal gloves

at LEAST the following jewelry:

-kekuri belt(best case scenario a glass belt)
-2x RoM(best case RoL, i used 1 emerald and 1 hp +6 for a long time and it worked fine)
-2x cleric earrings(no not mage!!!!!...best case get 2x warrior earrings)
-EP(if u want/have the money get iron neck but always keep an EP with u...hp bonus is unmatched )

staff:
-minimum of elixir +7...substitutes can be elixir +8 or sally +8 but nothing less than elixir +7

stats: (based off of lvl 63 with elixir +7)

skill bar: these are my skills bars what i found to work best...figure out ur own or use these its up to u but these all have a certain purpose

page one: General Party vs Party Tab

first tab to be used to its best goes like this: goto page four drop ur novas down then go page one run in and use charged blade potting when necessary if someone starts to run away use 2,3 in that order...then use 5,4 in that order on someone else...its a mage combo by the time the blast hits the person the thunder or lightning(depending which ur using) will hit at the exact same time for double damage(roughly 400 damage total compared to 200 seperate which is the same dmg as a nova ) then back to blading...always blade the priests first

learning when to tp will save not only ur party but urself cuz if ur parties alive they can keep u alive by continuing to fight...gate can be used no matter how much hp u have left and can only be cancelled by a GOOD sin combo so use that to ur advantage...i did spent most of my time gating away from death with less than 100 hp left

wow a 1v1 tab for a light mage? yup u heard me...put whatever resist armor u have for the class ur fighting then do this...blade til target is stunned...once target is stunned use impact, discharge, then as many statics as u can before stun wears off, then use a thorn to recover the hp lost during that time then back to blading until stunned...lather, rinse, repeat and u just won a 1v1 as a light mage...try to keep ur hp as close to full at all times so that when u need a mp pot u can use it and only lose a little hp not enough to kill u

how to be the best u can with this build:

1) use the resistance armor to ur advantage ALWAYS changing it as the situation fits...against duel weilding warriors put 1 axe def on and 1 spear def on, against raptor warriors put full spear on, against sin just dagger hat and crimson armor, against bp full sword def

2) learn how to slide...this isnt a skill that can be told took me a lot of practice blading ravens and harpies til i could blade them til i ran outta mana only getting hit once or twice...then i took it to pk and fought sliding warriors to the point i was successfully blading them more often than they could hit me(choose warriors cuz they slide and will use lr pots so u wont stun em and can practice sliding more )

This is an updated but pre-firedrake version!
Most things still apply though

I will try to keep it short and very simple.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to write here.

[REACHING LEVEL 60 AND BEYOND]

The key ingredients for levelling an archer are the following:
- only DEX matters, the more the better (specially at low level)
- find the monster that you can kill before it can kill you and gives at least decent XP
- whenever possible party up with other archers and kill with Z + ARC (easier, longer xp sessions)
- using only the 480 blue pots will save a lot of money in the long run


[MASTER SPECIALTY QUESTS]

To finish the quests you need to bring varies items to 'Secret Agent Clarence'.
She is located in Asga (human) and Bellua (orc).

LVL 60 (you gain 6.5% attack power and able to wear shell armour)
- 1 tail of shaula (shaula boss)
- 1 tail of lesath (lesath boss in colony zone)
- 1 fang of bakirra (bakirra boss in colony zone)
- 10 blood of glyptodont
- 10 crystals
- 10 opals
- 10 crude sapphires

LVL 62 (enables you to use magic shield; uses 1 'stone of rogue' each time)
- 1 kekury ring (kecoon boss and regular kecoons)
- 30 crystals
- 5 million coins

LVL 70 (enables the use of dark pursuer)
- 1 magic shield (so this will be your 2nd)
- 1 fang of bakirra (bakirra boss in colony zone)
- 1 silver bar
- 50 tentacles
- 20 cursed bones
- 30 blood of glyptodont
- 5 abyss wings (not 20 as it says in game)


[STRENGTH-SET]

Unlike warriors we archers can not carry a lot of items around.
Fortunately there is a way to be able to carry more items though.

Upgrade all 5 parts of the cheapest armour for rogues to +6/7/8 with STR on it.
When needed switch your regular armour with the 'strength set', fill up your inventory and switch back to your regular armour.

Please note that you are now overloaded and therefore at this time you are not able loot items from monsters nor can you trade with anyone or receive any 'Power Up Store' items.

Also this can be seen as bug-abuse, but then again so can 'comboing' and 'far-buffing HP'.
These 'errors' have been in KO since the very beginning and are still here today.


[GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START TO PK]

PK for an archer starts at level 60 because that is when you get the skill Shadow Hunter.
It has the same % damage as ARC shot, but it will hit 100% sure within a reasonable distance assuming there is no tree or other object in the arrow's way.

From my experience of all characters mages are the most dangerous for archers, because like archers they are fairly ranged too.
Second would be sin's, because of the stealth, lightfeet and high damage dealing in a short time.

You will have to realise an archer is not melee, you are supposed to do damage from a (safe) distance.
Being archer means you got to run/flee a lot, which can be really funny seeing that even the fattest warriors cannot even touch you.
If played right, you should not die that much, of course mistakes can be made and lag happens.

With that said archers unfortunately have the disadvantage of not doing that much damage.
Solution: party up with one or more archers (2 archers damage equals ~1 sin damage).
Add a duff-priest and you got NP raining from the skies.


[LIGHT FEET]

Usually it is best to use light feet while doing PK.
Quickly retreating or stepping in can be vital.


[USING STYX]

You will find styxing very useful in PvP as it drains most if not all of your targets mana at once, giving you and/or your party slightly more time for an action.
Shooting a styx takes a little bit longer then shooting a 'normal' arrow so you will need to time it right.

Unfortunately styxes are very heavy.
This is where your strength-set is very useful.


[USING HIDE]

I'm not sure why but I got the feeling not many archers use their hide skill, while this is one of the best skills archers have.
Granted you can not walk while using the skill, but still it makes you completely invisible to unsuspecting enemies.


[LUPINE EYES]

This is also one of the critical skills as it enables you to see invisible enemies within a certain range.
Keep in mind that in a party only the one who uses lupine eyes sees the icon in the top right corner.


[MAGIC SHIELD]

Use magic shield wisely, it has a long loading time but it will save your life a lot.
Preventing mages from doing major damage on you and also prevents you from being stunned, slowed, legcut and screamed (most of the time that is).


[CURE]

Your ability to cure yourself and others is another great advantage.
Curing with scrolls on will 'give' back the scrolls where as without scrolls you will have to get yourself a new buff.

The only downside to it is that the cure pots used for the skill are very heavy.
Again your strength-set is very useful.


[USING SAFETY]
The skill safety is mostly used for levelling since it gives 400 AC instead of the priest's 300 AC.
It does not last for long though.

For PvP it can be useful if you get debuffed without you using a AC scroll.
But it might be better to get new buffs at that point.


[POISON ARROWS & FIRE ARROWS]

You can use a poison arrow to keep te enemy from hiding and stealthing because of the continuous (low) damage the poison inflicts.

The fire arrow only seems useful for killing of monuments (more damage in less time).

Hopefully things change for the better in the upcoming KO expansion.
A few new useful skills for the current available levels would be nice plus some new skills for level 70+.


[MANA & HEALTH]

Try to have high mana at all times.
Like '0000000' said, mana equals health.

Although we archers can not minor heal while attacking, it still is a huge help to stay alive.
No mana means you will be depending on your heal pots.


[THE SKILL BAR]

The skill bar order does not really matter, as long as you can find the right keys when needed.
It is good to overlap certain skills and pots.

Example for level 62+:
F1 (mostly levelling)
1= dark pursuer/shadow hunter
2= safety
3= arc shot
4= arrow shower
5= minor heal
6= blue
7= red
8= swift

F2 (mostly colony zone)
1= dark pursuer/shadow hunter
2= wolf (right click for levelling)
3= lightfeet
4= lupine eyes
5= minor heal
6= blue
7= red
8= hide

F3 (support)
1= dark pursuer/shadow hunter
2= styx (right click for Colony Zone)
3= lightfeet
4= magic shield
5= minor heal
6= blue
7= red
8= cure curse

F4 (scrolls and other)
1= poison arrow skill
2=
3= lightfeet
4= empty
5= scroll of teleport
6= dex scroll
7= AC scroll
8= HP scroll


[GEAR]

You will have to find your own balance between AP, AC, HP and Resistance.
Create or buy your armour and jewellery accordingly.

In my opinion archers should always be focussed on attack power, then resistance, health points and lastly defence.
Otherwise you are going to be a fast-walking-healing-zombie, doing not much damage and for a great deal be depending on luck to get NP (last-hit-kills).


[SPECIAL GEAR]

Armour with weapon defences on it can be extremely helpful if you can switch to the appropriate pieces in time.
It will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the attacker's weapon on you.
e.g.: dagger defence versus assassins and goblin armour with it's resistances versus mages.

You can also create 'talia skins' for each weapon defence.

Be aware that you cannot repair this kind of armour and with just a few acid potions thrown on the talia it will be useless.


SUPPORT
As archer you can have multiple things to do other then the "regular shooting".

You can help the party (general):
1) keep luping on as much as possible
2) swift and re-swift slow party members
3) styxing people in general, it will cause some people to get confused and other people to want to kill you which is exactly what you want since you cannot shoot while walking.

You can help the party (defensive):
4) healing your party members
5) curing your party members
6) styxing incoming damage dealers that were not noticed soon enough by other members of the party
(assassin, swifted warrior and swifted battle priest).
7) styxing lightning mages specially if you solo is a must

You can help the party (offensive):
7) healing the most HP/AC'ed party member creating a more effective tanker
8) styxing (fleeing) rogues/priests preventing them to heal themselves and/or others or use any mana skills for that matter


[TARGETS]

I think a lot depends on the actual party formation, but these two seem to be the most common profiles.

Shoot-to-kill order:
1) all paper characters (aka: t-shirt morons)
2) archer
3) mage
4) assassin
5) warrior
6) priest

Tactical order:
1) full healer
2) debuffer
3) lightning mage
4) ice mage
5) archer
6) assassin
7) all paper characters (aka: t-shirt morons)
8) fire mage
9) warrior


[MISCONCEPTIONS]

- A lot of people say archers KS, this is simply not true.
Just because melee need to come close to be able to do damage and probably do more 1vs1-damage, does not mean archers KS.
Anyone can have a lucky last-hit-kill, archers just avoid risk because of the ranged attack.

- Most people think they can recognize a cheating archer while in fact they can not.
Create an archer yourself and level it up to level 35 while someone you know is closely watching your character doing this.
Then do it the other way around meaning you are closely watching that person level to up to level 35.
This will help you see all the visual bugs the archer character has, which does not mean someone is cheating.
Now go look for cheaters, you will notice the differences.
 
BASIC PRIEST GUIDE
 
DO NOT ask for guide for lvl LOWER than 40 and HIGHER than 54.
Just look what You NEED at lvl 40 and aim it.
After lvl 54 its rather easy...



DESCRIPTION OF SKILLS:

Race: ElMorad Karus
Basic: Basic Basic
Heal: Heal Heal
Curse: Holy Spirit Talisman
Buff: Aura Ecstacy
Advanced(lvl60+): Advanced Advanced



Distribution of SKILL POINTS

lvl = Your character level
Heal = Heal(ElMorad). Heal(Karus)
Curse = Holy Spirit(ElMorad), Talisman(Karus)
Buff = Aura(ElMorad), Ecstacy(Karus)
Unused = unused skill points after specific lvl


Heal/Curse

Full healer, VERY GOOD for lvling and VERY GOOD for PvP(has debuff at lvl 41).
Stays in the back and heals. Debuffs when needed.
When there is no Rezzer around can use his 60% res gained at lvl 50.
Makes nice hp pots...


Heal/Buff

VERY GOOD for lvling.
At lvl 40 has +480buff and 480 heal.
Because buffs are more important than heal must add skill points in buff till +960 hp buff.
After lvl 44 put all skill points in Heal.
At lvl 60 will have Heal 60(full heal) and Buff 42(960hp buff).
Makes nice hp pots...


Buff/Heal

BEST FOR LVLING...ALWAYS NEEDED...HARD TO FIND....THERE IS NO LVLING PARTY WITHOUT BUFFER.
lvl27 heal is VERY important that's why he will get 960hp buff at lvl 44.
You can put all your skill points to Buff at lvl 42 but You will have 240heal till lvl 44....(make sure You reach 480 heal lol).
lvl36 heal is a MUST that's why he gets 200AC buff at lvl53 (instead of 51).
At lvl 54 has +1200hp buff, 200AC buff and 960 heal. PERFECT!
Crappy when someone dies ..lol.


Buff/Curse

Hard to lvl, good with heal Priest.
Nice in PvP (has best buffs) and can debuff at lvl 44.
Gains 60%res at lvl 48...useful when there is no Rezzer around.
At lvl 60 has BEST buffs and 70% res.
In PVP: VERY GOOD...usually players don't "trust" healers in pvp and they use POTS! His debuff skill at lvl44 is VERY useful.


Curse/Heal 1 (PvP)

Best for PvP. Needed in every clan because of resurrections.
Its very important to have 36lvl heal as fast as possible because in PvP You can heal your friends effectively (and xping safer).
Have nice Resurrections.
Main task: Curse and Debuff


Curse/Heal 2(Rezzer)

lvl27 heal is a must.
Can party with higher lvl people because of 70% res at lvl 44.
His heal is crappy till lvl 48.
At lvl 48 same as Curse/Heal 1 (PvP) priest.


Curse/Buff

Its a priest for HARDCORE players.
At the begining he is a buffer ONLY.
No heal makes him hard to lvl (who wants priest that does not heal???)
He is usefull when u have full heal priest in party.
I only see this kind of priest when someone redistribute his skill points at lvl 60.
At lvl 60 he has all curses and +960 hp buff.

Great agains bosses...players dont trust healers....of course because of LAG....
Gains ressurections quickly(first - lvl 47) and who dont needs res when hunting bosses (lol) ??



Distribution of STAT POINTS
STAT Points for priest should be distributed according to ARMOR REQUIREMENTS (that is STR/INT; for Chitin Armor Pauldron STR/INT raises +2 every upgrade).
When the max will be obtained it depends what kind of priest You have chosen:

Main Heal; Buff/Heal
Uses a lot of mana, put as much as You can to INT (but remember about possible armor upgrades)

Main Curse; Buff/Curse
Must have big defense and attack because of his job (debuff). Add STR/INT according to requirements for best weapon for Priest (Priest Impact).
Notice that You will be able to use very nice SHIELD too.



TIPS

Healer
- You should know how much max HP has every party member and use proper healing.
- Don't just click on party members names and heal. LOOK what is going around You. It doesn't matter if u heal guy that have 20% HP left but he is safe … heal other party members who are facing danger…
- If your opponent is tough LOOK who will be hit first and start casting earlier.
- REAL heal time = casting time+LAG
- When fighting bosses use continuous healing and mana pots
- In PvP use two times bigger healing than it is your party member damage taken.

Buffer
- synchronize buffs - its good tactics because You know when they will drop
- heal even if You have crappy +240heal…
- don't be late with rebuffing(tell your party members that the buffs will drop)
- people usually dies because of buffs' drops not bad healing
- in PvP always try to have full mana

Curser
- debuff as much as u can (PvP,bosses)
- don't be afraid to attack… priest can kill to
- never leaves without buffs (in PvP)
- You cant do mistakes when there is no Rezzer around.. lol
- Ask for swift….without it You are useless (in PvP)
- Try to have good resists against Glacier, Lighting and Flame (PvP)
- When xping dont use curses, just heal



Things I dont like in priest
- dont have swift (and 150% speed potions seems not to work)
- makes crappy damage
- low max HP, dies fast
- some skills should become more powerfull with lvl (like slow, malice)
- not good in soloing



Battle Priest
Minimun lvl 62 - judgment.
Go Debuff/Heal. Dont be noob and dont go buff/malice/heal.
Use scrolls.

68 INT so You can use Fabic Pants +6(25arrow)..rest in str.
As pauldron use talia switch it with goblin 1st lvl.

Optimum armors:
Priest Cap 25dagger
Talia & Fabric Coat - Goblin
Fabric Pants 25arrow
Priest Gloves 20spear/25ax
Priest Shoes 20spear/25ax

the key is to have 25dagger cap if You dont have it go with Priest Helmet(25 dagger), its INT(102)

Items:
Mirage sword
2xRing Of Courage
2xWarrior earing
Iron Belt/GlassBelt
Iron Necklace

its good to have graham+chitin shield.
its good to put into hp in higher lvls.



Best support priest - Fullhealer/Debuffer
Min lvl 62 so You can have parasite
Go Heal(60)/Debuff(45).
Use scrolls

102 INT so You can use Priest helmet +6(25dagger)..rest in HP.
As pauldron use talia switch it with goblin 2ND lvl(Goblin Pauldron).

STR: 76
INT: 102
HP: max (REMEBER YOU CAN ONLY HAVE 255 HP(health) WITH ITEMS...so if You have more with items it DOESNT count, but +hp items count!). Like +hp has Ruby Ring, +HP(health) has Agate Ring/Iron Necklace.

Optimum armors:
Priest Helmet 25dagger (grade 2 armor)
Talia & Goblin Pauldron (grade 2)
Fabric Pants 25arrow or +7 HP Fabric Pants (grade 1)
Priest Guantlet 20spear/25ax (grade 2)
Priest Boots 20spear/25ax (grade 2)

Optimum Items:
Chitin Shield - must have
Lycoan Hammer(one with only resistances)or Lobo Hammer
2xRing Of Life
2xCleric earing
Glass Belt
Amulate of Goddess(or other with lighting/ice resistances)

Good Items:
Ruby Ring
Ice belt/ Lighting belt

The point is to get the highest HP with +hp items(NOT +HP-health items).
So You want to have high base HP and a lot of +hp from items. This will give You overall of 4k hp at lvl 64-65. like 700-800ac.
The resistance will make damage VERY LOW. lower than best armors+8 and You will have more hp.
its very important to have 3k mana so You can go with Full heal(2k mana) and 960 Full heal(1k mana) just after.
Healing looks like: heal+pot.

Below you can find table showing how much experience points you can gain killing each monster. Experience points summary is counted for 1 hour instant killing each monster.

  • AOE - Killin with mages using AoE spells

  • Total gain - Gained exp in 1 hour
  • Duo - 2 players
  • Trio - 3 Players
  • Bronze&Silver - Gained exp 1 hour either silver premium or bronze which gives 20% exp increase
  • Bronze&Silver+Valkyrie - Gained exp 1 hour either silver premium or bronze + Valkyrie (exp bonus helm+pauldron) which gives 26% exp increase
  • Gold - Gained exp 1 hour with Gold premium which gives 30% exp increase
  • Gold+Valkyrie - Gained exp 1 hour with Gold premium + Valkyrie (exp bonus helm+pauldron) which gives 36% exp increase
